Nido | mood light
Keeping in touch is easy with all the social media outlets available. However we still miss the effortless presence of our loved ones. NIDO (‘Nest’ in Italian) helps feel close to the ones who are far away by letting us feel their moods and emotions.
The nest holds 5 unique light bulbs, each representing a different loved one and is connected to their social media accounts. As loved ones make posts, the light of their bulbs changes colour to reflect the mood of the message, which is determined by key words and emojis.
NIDO is run by a Photon unit, which has a wi-fi connection. Through the ifttt server, the Photon connects to social media accounts and analyses content on posts in order to find triggers for different colors/emotions.
