OKS | food fermantation

OKS is a fermentation and incubation device designed as an evolution of traditional ways of yogurt making in the Balkan Peninsula. Once the containers are placed and the interface is powered, the user can set a temperature and time.

OKS achieves precise temperature through a heating wire threaded inside the base of the device, while wool is used to insulate containers. Wool was chosen due to its natural insulating and fire-retardant properties. All the materials used are detachable and recyclable.

The soft body of the device allows it to house containers of many different shapes and sizes, enveloping and ensuring full insulation during the long fermentation process, for the best homemade yogurt/kefir/kombucha.
