Haptic Synaptic | educational robot
Haptic Synaptic is a bracelet making robot designed to enhance girls’ interest in coding and engineering through playing with friends. The toy’s unique patented knitting system is easy-to-use for children aged 8 and above, who can both gain new skills and engage their friends by using it.
Assembly of the robot is part of the playing and learning experience. Initially flat-packed, the bracelet maker was designed to be easy to assemble by children. Material selection here was imperative to ensure safety and longevity of use.
The design stimulates long-term use and learning through variation and repetition. In mastering the basics of mechanics and coding through playing, girls are given a foundation for an ongoing interest in STEM, ideally resulting in increased women’s participation in tech.
